COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Brief Description

Instruction in safe work practices
Recognize and avoid hazards in the work place
Hands-on training providing good theory and practices.
The importance of proper use of tools and safety equipment such as:
Hearing protection - ear plugs/muffs
Hard hats
Gloves
Eye protection - glasses/shields
Respirators
ABC fire extinguishers
Methods of accident prevention
Class attendees will understand safe practices in relation to operations involving personnel accountability, energy sources, and lockout/tag out procedures.
Class attendees will gain a working understanding of caring for, handling, climbing and working from ladders and scaffolds.
Class attendees will be instructed in proper forklift/man lift usage.
Class attendees will learn fire extinguishing procedures for small fires.
Class attendees will be given basic instruction on what to do during a job site medical emergency.
This course offers the construction worker instruction in safe work practices in addition to recognizing and avoiding hazards in the work place.

103. Effective August 25, 2003, LP-gas safety rules require Category D certificate holders to attend an 8-hr class every 4 years. I hold a Category D certification. When is my deadline to take a class?
